Albert Knowling, 86 of Crawfordsville passed away Friday at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.

He was born January 4, 1933 in Fountain County to Garret and Florence Verhey Knowling. Albert was a 1951 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. He served in the US Army 1954-56.

On June 28 1953 he married Nancy Servies, she survives.
Albert worked for 38 years at RR Donnelly as a Maintenance Supervisor, retiring in 1990. He was also a farmer.  His memberships include the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and American Legion. He loved Camping, NASCAR, and fishing as well as watching his kids and grandkids sports activities.

In addition to his wife he is survived by four sons, Garry (Lynette) Knowling, Mark (Ellen) Knowling, Warren (Jill) Knowling, and Darrell (Susan) Knowling; two daughters Karen (Jeff) Marks and Sarah (Rick) Davis. He is also survived by brothers Carl (Nancy) and David; and Brother in law Joe Cler. He has 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his sister Doris Cler and brother in law Max Servies.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am Thursday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Dorman Winger officiating, with interment in the Oak Hill Cemetery North with military rites. Visitation will be held from 4-8 Wednesday.
