Obituary

Albert L. "Mac" McKinsey of Crawfordsville died Saturday morning in Franciscan St. Elizabeth East at Lafayette. HE was 83.
Mr. McKinsey worked for Public Service Company until he was drafted into the Army. He served two years in Korea. He then went into farming in the Cicero area until 1959.
At that time he was hired by Firestone Tire and Rubber Company at the Firestone store level. He was hired on as a gas station employee and worked his way up to be manager of a Firestone Store. After being moved from one location to another he decided to settle down in Crawfordsville.
He then left Firestone and joined Montgomery Wards when it opened a new mall store in Crawfordsville. He worked for about two years at Wards. He then joined Etter Tire Service in Lafayette as a commercial salesman. In 1977 he bought a store on the east side of town and started his own tire store and worked as owner and manager until 1993 when he retired.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Lions Club, where he served one year as president.
He attended Noblesville schools before transferring to Jackson Central High School, graduating in 1947.
He was born Sept. 5, 1928, at Noblesville, to Lester and Florence L. (Webster) McKinsey. He first married Dorothy Bain Potter in 1978. She died in 1986. He then married Margaret Rogers on Oct. 21, 1989. She survives.
Other survivors include: son Kirk (Teresa) Rogers of Crawfordsville; brother Les (Nicole) McKinsey of Noblesville; sister Frances (Joe) Endicott of Richmond, Texas; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Brothers, Wilbur and Herbert McKinsey, also are deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., with the Rev. Isaac Zull officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Friends may call 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
