Alfred M. Sheehan, age 96, a retired industrial purchasing agent went to his eternal home April 8, 2020. Alfred was born in Shannondale, IN on July 26, 1923 to John and Mary Sheehan. He graduated from Darlington High School in 1941. Alfred was drafted into the U.S. Army in September, 1941 for service in World War II. He then entered the Army Specialized Training Program at the University of South Dakota for Mechanical Engineering training. On completion, Alfred was sent to the Pacific Theater to the northern Pacific Marianas Island of Saipan. After being discharged, Alfred began his career as an industrial purchasing agent in the automotive industry. His weekend hobby was showing Saddle-Bred horses and judging horse shows. He was a 32 nd Degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite. Survivors include two daughters, Mary (Charles) Barnett), and Carolyn (Jim) Good; one son, Michael (Michelle Parker); four grandchildren, Neil (Katie) Barnett, Carol (Justin) Zink, Ryan Good, and Elizabeth Sheehan; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Ella (Miller) Sheehan, his parents; two sisters, Alnola Witthar and Alice Bruner; and one brother, Clifford. Hunt and Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, IN, is in charge of burial which will be in Shannondale Cemetary. At the present time, there will be no public viewing or service. The family hopes to schedule a celebration of life at a later time. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to the Salvation Army. AL always enjoyed helping this worthwhile organization by ringing the bells for them at Christmas.
