Obituary

Graveside funeral services with military honors for M.Sgt. (Ret) Allen (Al) L. Eakle will be held
October 24, at 11:30 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery Grant Ave in Crawfordsville IN.
Al was born on October 25, 1953 at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma to Thomas Eugene and Patsy Ann
Eakle. He died June 23, 2020 from Heart Disease.
Al lived the first 11 years of his life in Crawfordsville and Lafayette IN. His family then moved to
Placentia CA, where he graduated from El Dorado High School in 1972. Immediately upon
graduation, Al enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his 41-year career of Active Duty
and Reserves, Al served in the Vietnam War and the Kuwait Liberation.
Al's favorite assignment was as Air Show Coordinator for the USAF Demonstration Squadron,
The Thunderbirds. This assignment would become one of Al's greatest loves that he would be
actively involved with up to his passing. Al was a board member and instrumental in
maintaining social contact for members of the Thunderbird Alumni Association and Thunderfun.
Al was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ft Walton Beach FL, and the Fraternal
Order of Elks, Twin Cities Lodge #2747.
Al was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother James Edward Eakle.
Survivors include Sister Sandy (Gordon) Deapen of Taylorsville KY; Brother John (Chris) Eakle
of Allen TX; Aunts Mary Eakle-Burley of Taylorsville KY; Peggy Eakle of Milwaukee WI; Mary Jo
Eakle of White Water WI; 6 Nieces, 7 Nephews, 5 Great-Nieces, 4 Great-Nephews, 1 Great-
Great Niece and 1 Great-Great Nephew, and numerous Cousins.
Arrangements are being provided by Hunt and Sons, Crawfordsville IN.
