Alma V. Crowder, 98 of Crawfordsville passed away Friday.
She was born August 25, 1921, in Waynetown to Ermin & Maud Klepinger Bennett. Alma was a medical secretary for many years at Culver Hospital for Dr. Dodds. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star chapter 97 where she was a past Worthy Matron, and a member of American Legion Auxiliary. She worked at the Wesley Thrift Shop, served Meals on Wheels, and helped with Habitat for Humanity in Texas where she and her husband spent many winters. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her bridge club.
Alma married Chester Morgan in 1947, and he preceded her in death in 1956. She married John Crowder in 1986 and he preceded her in 2011. Her youngest son Rod Morgan also passed away in 2013. She is survived by her children Shirley Tolen (Danny) Hester of Richmond and Rick (Lee Ann) Morgan of Attica. She has 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00pm Tuesday, January 7 at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Campbell officiating. Visitation will be from 11-12 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
