Alta Ottinger of Crawfordsville died at 6:10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at St. Clare Medical Center. She was 90 years old.

Mrs. Ottinger, born on March 28, 1919 in Crawfordsville to parents Otis Thompson and Anna (Wilson) Thompson, worked for Mefford & Co. for 46 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship and Business & Professional Women's Association.

She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1937.

She married Lowell Ottinger, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Rita (Larry) Miller of Linden; six grandchildren - Steven (Margo) Coil at Moline, Ill., Scott (Laura) Coil at Huntsville, Ala., Suzanne (Al) Koonce at Crawfordsville, Shawn (Sara) Coil at Aviana, Italy, Cass (Pat) Miller at Tangier, Ind., and Jeff (Katie) Miller at Rockville. She also leaves behind 15 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sisters Mabel, Juanita and Dora.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with The Rev. Keith Strain officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery on Grant Avenue. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
