Alva Arnold Paxton, 75, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday at his residence.
Born Aug. 26, 1935, in Montgomery County, he was the son of Claude and Pauline (Haserodt) Paxton. He graduated from New Ross High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Navy.
He was retired from Pace Dairy and had previously worked at R.R. Donnelley and Mid-States.
He was a member of the Hillsboro Nazarene Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Jane Cale of Mace and Margie Cohoon of Columbia, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dick and Tom Paxton, and a sister, Irma LaBaw.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg McDonald officiating. Cremation will then take place.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
