Obituary
Archie Childers of New Carlisle and formerly of Crawfordsville died Friday in Merry Manor at New Carlisle. He was 97.
Mr. Childers was retired from International Harvester. He was a member of Amityville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Indianapolis and Smartsburg Christian Church
He was born Sept. 11, 1913 at West Rockport, Ky., to Jesse Thomas and Lillian (Moore) Childers. He married Helen Warren. She died June 23, 1999.
Survivors include a niece, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Five brothers, John, J.T., Roosevelt, Rigdon and Lowell and sister Edith Killingbeck are deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., Crawfordsville, with the Rev. Ross Walters officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until the 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
