Betty Sue Day, 69, Crawfordsville, passed away April 18, 2014, in Florida.
She attended Crawfordsville schools and worker for Raybestos for 43 years; from 1966-1983 in the wafer pressroom and then moved on to inspections, retiring in 2006.
She was a member of the Raybestos Bowling Team. She was baptized at First Baptist Church. She used to enjoy going to Minnesota with her husband to fish. She spent her winters in Florida. She was an animal lover who enjoyed her dogs and horses, especially Alister. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and was an avid movie fan.
She was born Sept. 30, 1944, at Crawfordsville, to Lyle and Alice (Endicott) Bannon, but was raised by her mother and step-father, Wallace Dye. She attended Crawfordsville schools and married Maurice "Brownie" Day on Sept. 23, 1968, and he passed on March 26, 2003.
Survivors include: sisters, Jo Ann Smith and Pat (Rodney) Siddons, both of Crawfordsville; and brothers, William (Gail) Dye of Otterbein and Charles (Kim) Dye of Lafayette. Also surviving are 14 nieces and nephews and close friend Ruth (Ozzy) Osborn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Isaac Zull officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
