Obituary
Betty I Stites, 84 of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday January 6, 2009 at St. Clare Medical Center. She was born February 29, 1924 to Charles and Emma Cable Lewis in Crawfordsville.
She attended Crawfordsville High School and retired from Sommer Metal Craft. She married Roy O. Stites. He preceded her in death February of 1966. She was a charter and lifetime member of the Crawfordsville Eagle's Ladies Auxiliary and VFW.
Betty is survived by a daughter Janet Hobson, Grand children Chris (Pam) Hobson, and Annette Tom Handy all of Greencastle along with three Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister Violet (Bill) Long and sister in law Marie Lewis as well as several nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ruby Zick and Helen PRoffit, brothers Bob and Fred Lewis. Son In law Gary Hobson and companion John Egelson Sr.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm on Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Givan officiating. Interment will be in Clinton Falls Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. The Eagles Auxiliary will conduct services just prior to the funeral service.
