Obituary
Billy Joe Cooper, 82, of Crawfordsville, passed away at 5:11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 at Seton specialty Hospital in Lafayette.
Mr. Cooper was born June 9, 1928 in Crawfordsville. He was the son of Everett and Bessie (Jones) Cooper.
He is a 1946 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. He was married to Joan Kendricks. She passed. He then married Betty Hartung on March 25, 1971. She survives. He retired from R.R. Donnelly's after 44 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eagles, American Legion and the Moose.
Survivors include sons, Larry (Betty Rutledge) Cooper and William B. Cooper, both of Crawfordsville; daughter, Deborah (Dennis) Bushong of Crawfordsville; step-daughter-in-law, Susie Hamm of Crawfordsville; son-in-law, Paul Moehling of Crawfordsville; brother, Robert L Cooper of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and a granddog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by first wife; step-son, Don Hamm; and daughter, Karen Moehling.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. James Ranard will officiate. Friends and family can pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
