Obituary

Bob L. Brock of Crawfordsville
died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth
East Hospital at Lafayette. He
was 89.
Mr. Brock taught and coached
basketball at Richland Township, Tell
City High School
and Wabash College.
He concluded
his career as
an administrator at
Fountain Central
and Turkey Run
high schools, retiring
in 1987. During
the summers he
worked as an independent
contractor
and in retirement he
tended his small farm near Crawfordsville.
He graduated from Clay City High
School in 1940 and earned a bachelor's
degree from Indiana State
Teachers College in 1949, adding a
master's degree in 1963. He served
in the Marine Corps from 1942 to
1945 and served in the South Pacific.
He was a member of Christ's United
Methodist Church at Crawfordsville.
His other memberships
included: American Legion, Masonic
Lodge 19 Terre Haute, Wabash
College Hall of Fame and Montgomery
County Basketball Hall of
Fame. He received a distinguished
alumni award from Indiana State
University in 2009.
He was born Sept. 20, 1922, at
Linton, to Cecil and Georgia Brock.
He married Nadine Ley on June 15,
1947, at Clay City. She survives.
Other survivors include: children,
Robert (Marsha) Brock of Toney,
Ala., Dianne Brock of Cumming, Ga.,
and John (Carol) Brock of Lafayette;
four grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
Brother Warren Brock and grandson
Michael Brock are deceased.

Funeral services are scheduled
for 11 a.m. Friday at Christ's United
Methodist Church. Burial will be at
Maple Grove Cemetery, Clay City.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday
at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N.
Grant Ave., and one hour prior to
services Friday at the church.
