Obituary

Bobby Gene Whitecotton, 86, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by his family on February 25, 2018. Born in Yountsville, Indiana to Walter and Laura Whitecotton, he lived most of his life in the Crawfordsville area.
Bob is survived by Joann, his wife of 49 years, daughter Linda (Roger) Tribbett, sons Steve (Marilynn) Whitecotton, Mike (Aimee) Whitecotton, and Jim (Leiza) Whitecotton, Step-Children Karen Froedge, David Scott and Daryl (Linda) Scott, sister Betty (Don) Myers, and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Bob was a caring father, husband, grandfather and a supportive friend to them all.
An Air Force veteran, he was honorably discharged after working on airplanes during the Korean War era. Bob maintained memberships in the American Legion Post 72 for 55 years, Indiana Freemasons Montgomery Lodge #50 F&AM Masonic Lodge for 34 years, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1005 for 60 years.
Bob retired from Midstates Wire after 21 years, then owned a hearing-aid business for several years.

A special thank you to the Nurses and Doctors at St. Vincent's for making Bob comfortable and patiently answering the families many questions.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Hunt & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, March 17. Graveside services will follow at the Freedom Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association at 8604 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250.
