Brandon Scott "Murph" McMurtrey, 23, of Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday.

Mr. McMurtrey was born Nov. 8, 1985 in Lafayette. He is the son of Michael McMurtrey & Marian (Appel) McMurtrey.

He attended Crawfordsville High School. He raced at Ben Hur Racing Track and won the Bunker Hill Championship.

He is survived by his parents; brothers, Michael John (Rachel) McMurtrey of Crawfordsville; sister, Dawn Addler (Nathan) Buis of Crawfordsville; nephews, Braiden Buis and Josiah McMurtrey; grandmother, Berthanne Storms of Crawfordsville; as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Harold Addler; and grandparents, John McMurtrey, Tom & Katherine Appel.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial is at Oakland Cemetery near Elmdale.

Friends and family can pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
