Obituary
Carl R. Melvin, 68, of Cooperas Cove, Texas, and formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Aug. 22 in Texas.
He retired from the U.S. Army and held memberships in the VFW, American Legion 72, Vietnam Veterans; he was a reserve officer and was a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church.
He was a Crawfordsville High School graduate.
He was born May 11, 1943, at Crawfordsville, the son of Kenneth R. and Christine (Hall) Melvin. He married Freda Chrisman, who survives.
Additional survivors include his mother; children, Kathy Kiser, Ronald Melvin, Deborah Bloomer and Cynethia Browning; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
His father was deceased.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Monday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Goff officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home.
