Carlton "Bud" "Corkey" Shelley, 73, of
Crawfordsville died
Tuesday at Methodist
Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mr. Shelley was
born June 7, 1936 in
New Ross, the son of
Carl Shelley and Francis
(Mitchell) Shelley.
He was a 1956 graduate
of New Ross High School
and held the county shot
put record for 50 years.
He served in the U.S. Army and reserves
from 1959 to 1965.
July 3, would have been the 50th wedding
anniversary for Shelley and his wife,
Wanda (Lowe) Shelley. She survives.
Other survivors include, daughters
Pauline Garver of Waynetown; Debbie
(Kenny) Gill of Crawfordsville; Lois
(Roger) Cook of New Ross; Deanna
(James) Barrett of Ladoga and Dianne
(Jeff) McKinney of Crawfordsville; 14
grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents
and sister, Lois M. Shelley.
Services are Friday at noon at New
Ross Cemetery with Pastor Terry Gobin
officiating. Burial will be at New Ross
Cemetery with VFW and Legion services.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to
noon at Mace United Methodist Church.
