Obituary

Marian Carol Priest, 79 of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Franciscan Health Lafayette, Indiana. Carol was born March 30, 1946 to Marion and Esther Ware of Grady, New Mexico. She married George Phillip Priest in 1965 in Clovis, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her husband Phil (George) Priest and her parents, Marion and Esther Ware. Survivors include Brothers Dan Ware (Margaret) Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Jim Ware (Debi) of Grady, New Mexico. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Carol was one of 65 cousins with whom she enjoyed growing up. She was raised on a dryland wheat and cattle ranch at Grady, New Mexico. Carol graduated Grady High School in 1964 and attended Eastern New Mexico University where she met her husband Phil, who was stationed at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico. Afterwards, they moved to Crawfordsville IN.

She worked at Ingress Plastene, Stalcop Metal Forming, and Abilities Services Inc. She was a member of Young's Chapel Christian church, and Crawfordsville Moose Lodge, and Ladies Auxiliary VFW.

Cremation was chosen. Interment will be in Grady, New Mexico. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Young's Chapel Christian Church near Crawfordsville, Indiana between 2:00 – 4:00. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.huntandson.com.
