Carole Lee Meyer, 77, passed away peacefully on September 12 th at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette with her daughters by her side.

She was born October 30, 1941, in Evanston, Illinois to Lee and Jo (Render) Mommsen.  She retired from Greenacres Medical Group as a Registered Nurse and had also worked for Visiting Nursing Services and Milligan's Flowers.

She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church for over 42 years, where she served in various capacities.  She was also a member of Sugar Creek Quilters, Crawfordsville Art Guild, Tri Kappa, Christian Nursing Service, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, O. Kent Meyer, who passed away on March 13, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her mother in September of 2007.

Survivors include her father, Lee Mommsen of Carlsbad, CA, children, Suzanne (Monte) Thompson of Crawfordsville and Karen (Bill) Taylor of Kalamazoo, MI, sister, Sue (Larry) Sebastian of Carlsbad, CA and grandchildren Sarah Taylor, Brian Taylor (Len Williams), Andrew Thompson, Davis Thompson and Kristen Thompson.

A visitation will be held 3-6 PM Friday, September 27, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Whitlock Hall.  A memorial service will be held 1:30 Saturday, September 28 also at St. John's Episcopal Church, 212 South Green St., Crawfordsville.

The family requests the omission of flowers but memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church or the Dr. Mary Ludwig Free Clinic.
