Obituary
Chester R. "Chet" Timmons, 85, of Crawfordsville, passed away Friday evening at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
Mr. Timmons was born Dec.14, 1922 in Cass County to Andrew and Nancy Timmons.
He was a 1941 graduate of Darlington High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He first married Eleanor Timmons. She preceded him in death. He then married Norvella Haffner on Oct. 21, 1974 in Crawfordsville. She survives. He owned Chet's TV and Radio Repair shop. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; stepdaughters, Dixie Trinkle of Crawfordsville and Rhonda Sandafer of Lafayette; six grandchildren, including Cherlyn Dailey of Crawfordsville whom he raised as his daughter; 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children; and two brothers, Ralph and Orval.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral with the Rev. Curtis Brouwer officiating. Burial is at Oak Hill Cemetery North with burial rites by the VFW and the American Legion.
Friends and family can pay their respects from 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
