Christian J. Mercer, 27, of Crawfordsville passed away Friday Aug 9, 2019 after losing his battle with cancer.

Christian was born Oct 25, 1991 at Culver Union Hospital Crawfordsville.  He is the son of Dean and Rhonda (Teague) Mercer of Indianapolis.  He graduated fro Crawfordsville High School in 2010.  Following graduation he attended Ivy Tech Community College.

Christian enjoyed online gaming where he was known as SixtheDK.  In his younger years he enjoyed skateboarding and BMX biking with friends.  One of his favorite past time events included building his 1994 Mustang with his dad.  He enjoyed listening to hip hop and rock music and watching horror films.  He also enjoyed working on his house which he purchased Aug 4, 2017.

Christian was employed by Kroger and worked as a customer service representative for both stores in Crawfordsville.  This is the place where he met the love of his life Sydney Bell Mercer.

Christian proposed to Sydney at the home they shared in Crawfordsville Feb 19, 2019 and were married at the IU Simon Cancer Center on June 14, 2019.  They are expecting their child Aug 27, 2019.

Christian leaves behind his parents; wife Sydney Mercer; unborn child Mercer; sister Sara Cooksey; brothers Tyler Mercer and Alan Cooksey; and several nieces and nephews.

Christian was preceded in death by his grandparents Richard and Sally Teague and William and Elizabeth Mercer.

A memorial service will be held Friday evening Aug 16, 2019 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Hunt and Son funeral home in Crawfordsville where Tyler Mercer will speak at 7:00 PM
