Clarabelle (Altvater) Snuffer, 77, Crawfordsville, passed away November 10th at Williamsburg Healthcare. She married Philip L. Snuffer in 1984 and he passed away three days earlier on November 7th.
Mrs. Snuffer was born May 5, 1935 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Carl and Doris Altvater. She graduated Indiana State with a degree in Nursing. She worked alongside her husband as owners of Lee-Med, a hospital supply and hearing aid company, with locations in Crawfordsville, Frankfort, Lebanon and Marion.
She is survived by sons, Bradley W. Spencer (Amy) of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Bruce W. Spencer (Gayle) of Ellettsville, IN., daughters, Cindy Hanson ( Tommy) and Debbie Spencer both of Mt. Pleasant, SC. And her niece (raised as a daughter) Mary Taylor (Evan) of Greencastle, IN. She is survived by Step-sons, David G. Snuffer (Karen) of Shelbyville, IN, And Avery D. Snuffer (Melva) of W. Lafayette, IN, Step-daughter, Teresa K. Snuffer of Lafayette, IN, brothers, Charles Altvater, Terre Haute, IN., Robert Altvater, Terre Haute, IN., Carl Altvater, Huntsville, AL.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Sister Elizabeth Altvater
Per her wishes, she was cremated with a private memorial service held by the family.
