Curtis Stevens

Curtis Stevens, 70, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Curtis was a lifelong farmer, faithfully working the land until his final harvest season in 2016. In the last eight years of his life, he returned home to live on the family farm, where he continued investing in the people and work that mattered most to him.

Curtis’s life was defined by his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He made it his purpose to magnify Jesus in everything he did. The way he loved his family, cared for others, faced challenges, and celebrated life’s blessings all flowed from that relationship. He didn’t simply believe in Jesus; he walked with Him every day, seeking to be led by the Holy Spirit. Whether offering a helping hand, discipling someone, or giving encouragement, Curtis reflected the love and grace of Christ in a way that made people feel seen, valued, and loved.

Curtis’s love for Jesus gave birth to The Get To Life, not just the devotional he wrote, but the way he lived each day. He believed life wasn’t something he had to get through; it was something he got to live because it had been graciously given to him by God. Whether the day brought joy or hardship, Curtis embraced it with gratitude, trusting that every moment was another opportunity to know Jesus more deeply, to magnify Him, and to love others well. The legacy of The Get To Life will continue to move people in both heart and step to follow Jesus, just as Curtis did throughout his life.

After a lifetime of sowing seeds in the fields, Curtis devoted his life to sowing seeds for God’s eternal Kingdom. He faithfully invested in the lives of others through discipleship, volunteering with Trinity Life Ministry, and serving as part of the pastoral team at The InGathering Church in Linden for the past four years. He counted it a privilege to walk alongside others as they grew in their relationship with Christ.

Curtis is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Jeannie (Budreau) Stevens; his son, Dustan Stevens; Dustan’s wife, Amberlie, and their children, Caleb, Teagan, and Brody; his son, Aaron Stevens; Aaron’s wife, Marlee, and their daughter, Scottie; his brothers, Bill Stevens and his wife, Gabrielle, Dick Stevens, and Mark Stevens and his wife, Kalay; his sisters, Dianne Rule and her husband, Dick, Cindy Golliher and her husband, Steve, and Laura Hillger and her husband, Don; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Curtis was the youngest of eight children born to A.R. and Gerry Stevens. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Pat Stevens.

Curtis was deeply loved by his family, his friends, his church, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was gentle and lowly in heart, always putting others before himself and reflecting the love of Christ in the way he lived. His quiet strength, genuine kindness, and servant’s heart left a lasting impact on countless lives. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and cared for, and his example will continue to inspire those who knew him.

More than anything, Curtis wanted people to know Jesus, not because of what He could do for them, but because of who He is. That desire shaped every conversation, every act of service, and every opportunity to point someone toward the hope he had found in Christ.

While his family grieves his passing, they also rejoice in the assurance that Curtis is now home with his Savior he loved so deeply. His life was a testimony to God’s grace, and though he is no longer with us, his legacy will continue to point others to Jesus.

He will be deeply missed until the day we are reunited in the presence of our Lord.
