Daniel Reed McIntyre, 67, of Ladoga went home to be with our Lord at 4:36 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, surrounded by family and friends.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gladys Mae McIntyre of Ladoga; son Lonnie (Mary) McIntyre of Ladoga; grandchildren, Michael Allen, Melissa Jean (Justin), Joshua Ryan (Tiffanie), Joshua Earl and his loving granddaughter, Angela Marie (his Angel, as he called her); and one great-granddaughter.

He also is survived by brothers, Dennis (Judy) McIntyre of Indianapolis and Alan (Donna) McIntyre of Spencer; sisters, Barbara Hightower of Sacramento, California, and Marcia (Jim) Thompson of Greenwood; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald McIntyre and Evelyn Rolan.

Daniel was born June 17, 1949, at Crawfordsville. He was a 1967 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted into the United Sates Marine Corps, where he was a sergeant and served in Vietnam. He earned many medals and ribbons for his service.

He married his high school sweetheart, Glady, in 1974. He retired from RR Donnelly & Sons after 32 years. He enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends, and he loved woodworking and traveling.

He will always be remembered for his storytelling and his jokes. He was well loved by many and will be missed greatly … until we meet again.

Pastor Terry Thompson will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Daniel's life. Services will be Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Viewing will be noon to 2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Graveside services will follow.

Family will gather at Rock Point Church following the services. Join us for meal and fellowship.
