Obituary

Rev. Danny Paul Ryan, 76, of Waynetown, passed away Wednesday at IU Arnett Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born November 6, 1945 in Crawfordsville to Rev. Frank & Grace Durham Ryan Sr.

Danny had worked for Lifetime Gate as a truck driver. He then retired from California Pellet Mill in 1992. Following his retirement, he went on to jointly own with his wife Jane, DJ Enterprises, Ryan's County Line Lounge in Waynetown, The Waynetown Dari-Bar, Cracker Barrel Restaurant of Waynetown, Dans 50's Ice Cream Shop in Hillsboro, and the Spartan Inn in Wingate.

Dan and Jane were Montgomery County Special Olympics Coordinators beginning around 1980 for over 10 years.  Dan loved his Special Children and remained in contact with most of them.

Dan was a past member of the Waynetown Masonic Lodge and a current member of the Waynetown Merchants Association.

Dan became an ordained minister in 2003.  He loved the Lord and served Him unconditionally.

On July 5, 1973 he married Jane Jones, she survives. Also surviving are sons Danny Paul (Lisa) Ryan II & Dr. J. Michael (Alex Guerrero) Ryan; and step-daughter Kristy Crews. He has 6 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Stephen; Brothers Frank Ryan Jr. and Patrick Ryan.

Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Kelvin Copas officiating. Interment will follow in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-2 Tuesday at Hunt & Son.
