Obituary
Darrell W. Mitchell, 72, of Crawfordsville died Thursday evening, Sept. 17, 2015, at IU Health, Lafayette.
He started out with A&P grocery store and then the International union followed by trustee at V.F.C.W. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School and Purdue University.
He was born Feb. 27, 1943, at Crawfordsville, to William and Wilma (Prather) Mitchell. He married Hazel Emverton. She survives.
Other survivors include: children, Jeff (Janet) Mitchell of Crawfordsville, David (Missy) Willhite of Lafayette, Mike (Julie) Woodward of Terre Haute, Donald (Kat) Willhite of Waveland, Jason (Christy) Mitchell of Hillsboro, Bobby (Barb) Willhite of Jasper and Tracy (Brenda) Grealds of Crawfordsville; brothers, Ronnie (Janie) Mitchell of Turkey Run and Brent (Susie) Mitchell of Crawfordsville; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, with Father Chris Shocklee officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Monday at the church.
