David Maurice Devitt, 87, of Crawfordsville, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Thursday at Williamsburg Health Care.

Mr. Devitt was born May 2, 1990 in Crawfordsville to Charles B. Devitt and Blanche I. (Holland) Devitt.

He graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1939.

He first worked for Freeman Clothing Store and then for the United States Postal Service until his retirement.

Memberships included St. Bernard's Catholic Church and 50 years with the Eagles.

Survivors include a brother, Max (Dora) Devitt of Crawfordsville; six nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-nephew. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles B. Devitt, Jr.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Father David Hellman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family may call 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church
