David Albert Martin, 62, Crawfordsville, passed away Monday afternoon at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mr. Martin was retired as a teacher from the Lafayette School Corporation where he had taught at Lafayette Jefferson High School.
His memberships included Christ's United Methodist Church, the Athletic Booster Club at Lafayette Jefferson High School and the John Purdue Club.
He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1962 and from Purdue University in 1967.
He was born on March 27, 1944 at Lafayette to Albert E. Martin and Katherine Rodriguez Martin. He married Nancy Jacobs on September 12, 1964 in Lafayette and she survives.
Also survivng are a son, Don (Tracy) Martin of Crawfodsville and a daughter, Kim Young, also of Crawfordsville, a borther, Philip K. Martin of Okeechobee, FL, five grandchildren, Audrey Sieferman, Brinton Sieferman, Erin Martin, Caleb Martin and Collin Martin. In addition, a niece and nephew also survive.
A memorial service will take place 11:00 AM Friday in the funeral home with Rev. John Pettigrew officiating. Burial at a later date will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery in Lafayette.
Friends may call 4-9 PM Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ's United Methodist Church, 909 E. Main St, Crawfordsville, IN 47933 to aid in building a New Life Center for youth.
