Obituary

David Nichols, 93, of Crawfordsville passed away peacefully Friday at Wellbrooke with his family by his side.
Mr. Nichols owned Nichols Electric for over 30 years. He was a lifelong resident of Crawfordsville. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific.
His memberships included American Legion, where he had served with the honor guard, Veterans of Foreign Wars, I.B.E.W., Moose, Eagles and attended Rock Point Church. He was a Crawfordsville High School graduate.
He was born July 27, 1921, at Crawfordsville, to Roy and May (Long) Nichols. He married Betty Braun on Dec. 9, 1942. She died April 27, 1993. He then married Eileen Simmons on Jan. 22, 1994. She also preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughter Lynne (Tim) Elzinga of Crown Point; stepdaughter Sherri Clements of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Chris (Laurie) Elzinga of Dyer and Dan (Ellie) Elzinga of Highland; step-grandchildren Rob (Amanda) Clements and Jamie (Kerry) Shillings; and step-great-grandchildren, Korbin and Jonah Shillings.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Thompson officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Grant Avenue. Friends may call 12-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home
