David Blaine "Shorty" McClain of Crawfordsville died Sunday at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health-Crawfordsville. He was 92.
Mr. McClain retired from RR Donnelley in 1982 after 31 years.
He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion.
He was born April 17, 1919, in Montgomery County, to Leslie Earl and Bessie Mae (Everson) McClain. He married Mary Counts. She died April 10, 1988.
Survivors include: daughters, Shirley Cox of Crawfordsville, Joann (Bob) Deck of Crawfordsville, Mary Lee Landgrave of Crawfordsville and Betty (Kelvin) Chessir of West Terre Haute; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Three grandchildren are deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home,
107 N. Grant Ave., with Pastor Jene McFay officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Ladoga Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
