Delmas Dean Chadwick, 92 of rural New Ross passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019.

He was a pilot, a farmer, an auditor, a mailman and so much more. He was a graduate of New Ross High School in 1945 and attended Purdue University. In 1947 he married Rebecca Lou Myers who preceded him in death after 54 years of marriage. He then married Jean (Friend) Chadwick who preceded him in death in 2018.

Also preceding him in death were parents Lloyd Earl Chadwick and Mary (Ward) Chadwick and brother Vernon Eugene Chadwick. He is survived by a daughter Karen (Gary) Simpson, sons Alan (Marilyn) Chadwick, Dale (Lisa) Chadwick and Jerry Chadwick, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

If you ever met Delmas you would know what a truly special person he was. He attended Trinity and Mace United Methodist Churches his entire life. He piloted his own plane at the age of 18, farmed with his family, served as Montgomery County Auditor for two terms, was an Account Executive for WCVL radio and was a mail carrier for many years, never wavering from his strong faith in God.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hunt and Sons with visitation from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Donations can be made to Mace United Methodist Church.
