Donald D. Birch of Crawfordsville died at
11:15 p.m. Saturday at St. Clare Medical
Center. He was 84.
He was born in Darlington to Roy and
Clara Birch. He was married to Betty Wood
on August 6, 1960; she survives.
He went to Smartsburg and Darlington
Schools. He retired from R.R. Donnelley in
1987.
He was a member of Friendship Baptist
Church and the American Legion in Darlington,
and was a 50-year Masonic Lodge member. He
also served in the U.S. Army in WWII.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Jacci (Doug)
Jones and Deana (Allen) Bayless, both of Crawfordsville; three
grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.

The service will be 2 p.m.Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral
Home with Rev. Curtis Brouwer officiating. Burial will be at Oak
Hill Cemetery South will military rites by the American Legion
and VFW. Visitation hours will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.Tuesday
with Masonic rites.
