Donald Lee Corey of Bloomington and formerly of Crawfordsville
died Saturday in Garden Villa at Bloomington. He was
80.
Mr. Corey was the original owner and manager of Kentucky
Fried Chicken at Crawfordsville, was in the insurance
business many years and most recently
was caretaker of Imperial Estates mobile home
park.
He served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1954.
He was a member of Knightridge Pentecostal Church at
Bloomington. He was a 1950 graduate of Covington High
School and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University.
He was born Sept. 27, 1931, at Veedersburg, to O. Lee and
Gladys (Craig) Corey. He married Penny A Yates. She died in
March 2006.
Survivors include: special friend, Theresa McArtor of Bloomington;
brothers, William (Patty) of Crawfordsville and Florida
and Ralph (Marta) of Florida and South Dakota; daughters, Bonny
Cox of Crawfordsville and Cindy Coffield of Gaylordsville,
Conn.; and step-daughter Crystal Jenkins of Indianapolis.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Hunt
& Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., Crawfordsville. Burial
will be at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Friends may call noon to
2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
