Donald A. Ledman, 77, of Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday at his home.
Mr. Ledman was born Oct. 28, 1930 in LaRue, Ohio to Edwin & Lillie Schuster Ledman.
He graduated from LaRue (Ohio) High School in 1948 and Ashland College (Ohio) in 1957. He married Frieda Rice on July 5, 1953. She preceded him in death Feb. 13, 2008. He was the former manager of Montgomery Ward, a part owner of Messenger Crier and worked part time in Kroger deli. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, American Legion, VFW, Eagles and Knights of Columbus. He was a lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
He is survived by three daughters, Joy Jilek of Ann Arbor, Mich., Lisa (Jay) Taylor of Crawfordsville and Susan (Tom) Eastman of West Lafayette; son, Douglas (Valerie) Ledman of Connersville; nephew who she raised, Jim (Betty) Derringer of Roachdale; brother, Ted Ledman of San Francisco, Calif.; sister, Evelyn Cross of Clarksville; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.
A memorial mass is Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Father David Hellman officiating.
