Obituary

Donald R. Osting of Crawfordsville died Monday at Seton Specialty Hospital, Indianapolis. He was 78.
Mr. Osting had been a supervisor for RR Donnelley from 1951 to 1991.
He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 where he was an airborne paratrooper and helicopter mechanic.
His memberships included: St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Crawfordsville Country Club, American Legion, Elks and Eagles. He was a 1951 graduate of Parker High School at Chicago.
He was born June 12,1933, at Chicago, to Howard and Ruth (Schueneman) Osting. He married Kathleen Waters on Oct. 27, 1953, at Chicago. She survives.
Other survivors include: daughters, Kathleen (Thomas) Shannon of Andover, MA, and Patricia (Larry) Stuffle of Avon; brothers, Robert of Knox, James (Lynne) of Oak Forest, Ill., William (Dorothy) of Alsip, Ill., and Daniel of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Joan (Truman) Smith of Homer Glen, Ill., Jean (Ron) of Ruge of Frankfort, Ill., and Judy (Eugene) Kasper of Paylos Hills, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Son Donald C. Osting died in 1981.
A memorial service is scheduled for noon Saturday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, with Father Dennis Faker officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
