Doris Dean McCormick McIntire of Crawfordsville passed away at Lane House Monday morning at 4:00 a.m.

Mrs. McIntire was born in 1922.

She attended Crawfordsville High School. She married Charles Andrew McIntire and raised a family in Crawfordsville. She worked at Allison's during the war. Doris was active in Beta Sigma Phi, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Board of Directors of Youth Services Bureau, TB association, Montgomery County Easter Seals, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mr. and Mrs. McIntire opened Mac's Cleaners 30 years ago as a business venture. She enjoyed working the counter and greeting the customers with a smile.

Survivors include two children, Debbi (Dean) McIntire Strack and Mitch McIntire; daughter-in-law, Jill McIntire Maxwell; eight grandchildren, Aaron Nelson, Kara Dean Nelson DeArman, T.K. Nelson, Danielle McIntire, Morgan McIntire, Mallory McIntire, Theron McIntire, Evan McIntire; and one great-grandchild Avery Dean DeArman.

She was preceded in death by husband, Charles Andrew McIntire; and son, Michael Andrew McIntire.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hunt & Sons Funeral Home.

Friends and family can pay their respects from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday
