Doris V. Mennen, 77, of New Richmond, passed away at 5:01 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mrs. Mennen was born June 19, 1930 in Sullivan County to Marvin and Deslie Mounts Bishop.

She attended school in New Richmond. She married Harvey Glenn Mennen on Sept. 26, 1948. He preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1997. She baked wedding and specialty cakes. She was a member of Linden Conservation Club where she had been a member and secretary, past member of Round Hill Aid, Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at Lafayette and attended Elmdale Community Church.

She is survived by sons, Harold (Linda) Mennen of Crawfordsville and Denny (Kathy) Mennen of Crawfordsville; sisters, Margaret McClure of Vincennes and Millie Hanna of Terre Haute; brothers, Jim Bishop of Pie Town, N.M., and Jerry Bishop of North Salem, four grandchildren, Jason, Melissa Bridwell, Mike and Ryan; and five great-grandchildren, Shelbi, Madison, Brayton, Corbin and Aubyrn

She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Freida Wasmer, Lois Matthews, Beulah Page and Helen Yates; brother, Dale Bishop.

Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. George Smith officiating. Burial is at Oak Hill Cemetery North.

Friends and family can pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home.
