IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward C.
Sieferman
October 18, 1938 – September 8, 2021
Edward C. Sieferman ~ known to many as "Ed", or "Mike" ~ age 82, passed away September 8 surrounded by his family. Born October 18, 1938 in Janesville, Wisconsin to Oscar and Dorothy Sieferman, Ed was preceded in death by his siblings Oscar, Harry, and Dorothy. Ed is survived by a brother, Robert.
Ed graduated from Princeton (IN) High School in 1957. Ed and Janet (née Weyer) were married on August 25, 1962 in Evansville, Indiana. Ed and Janet had three children: Edward Michael (Sarah), Laura (Eric Frye), and Eric (Amy). Janet preceded him in death.
Ed retired as a computer programmer in 1994 after 26 years at R.R. Donnelley & Sons. He then worked at Raybestos for a few more years before retiring for good. He was then able to create lots of wonderful memories with his nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan, and enjoyed attending Indianapolis Racers games with his kids. Bugs Bunny was a source of great joy to Ed. He was very proud of the Bugs Bunny tattoo he received for Father's Day at age 70! A self-professed "news hound" and Civil War buff, he loved listening to all types of music, with Abba and Neil Diamond his favorites. His greatest joy, besides his wife, children and grandchildren, were his dachshunds. He and Janet got their first dog immediately after getting married and he had at least one dachshund at home the rest of his life.
A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 17, at St. Bernard's Church. Visitation will precede the mass from 12 – 2 Friday at the church. Internment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Welfare League, 1104 Big Four Arch Rd, Crawfordsville IN 47933, or mcawl.com.
