M. Eileen Kenyon, 88, passed away early Monday morning July 18, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Mrs. Kenyon was born on May 20th, 1928 in Waynetown to William and Lola (Wilson) Thompson. She was a 1947 graduate of Waynetown High School. Eileen married Richard W. Kenyon on July 28, 1951 in Waynetown and they resided in Crawfordsville.
Eileen was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County until her final few years. She was an active member of numerous civic organizations in the Crawfordsville area such as the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Art League of Montgomery County, and was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church. Eileen also participated with her husband as active members of the USS Enterprise CV-6 Association, serving as Recording Secretary and Ship's Storekeeper for many years. She loved her family and the time spent with them.
She retired from Chase bank in the early 1990's after serving 25 years first as a teller, and later as a loan officer.
Surviving are children Michael W. (Peggy) Kenyon of Fort Wayne and David B. Kenyon (Robin) of Cherry Hills Village, Colorado, grandchildren Jennifer, Cassidy, Stacey, Jack, and Caroline Kenyon, and great-grandchildren Kailey Kenyon, Sierra Wagner and Noah Schafer. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Friends may call for visitation at Hunt and Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville 12:00 -2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 26th which will be followed by a graveside service. Burial will be at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
