Eleanor "Peggy" Millbern, 89, Crawfordsville, passed way Friday at Williamsburg Healthcare.
She was born April 21, 1924, in Indianapolis, to Elmer and Edna (Hill) Wilhite. She graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis and attended Indiana University for one year. She had been a civil secretary for Ft. Benjamin Harrison. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and was a pink lady for Culver Hospital and St. Clare Hospital. She moved to Crawfordsville from Indianapolis in 1971.
She married Robert D. Millbern on July 26, 1945, in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death Oct. 23, 2010.
Survivors include: children, Kris (Richard) Galvin of Thorntown, Robert (Stephanie) Millbern of Mahamet, Ill., Gretchen (Tom) Dimock of Connecticut and Mark Millbern of Crawfordsville. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, a brother, Elmer Wilhite, preceded her in death.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church.
