Emma Jo Kendricks, 11 passed away Sunday at Riley Hospital after her hard fought battle with a brain tumor which started on May 5, 2009.
Emma was born in Lafayette on September 2, 2006 to Chad and Amanda Callihan Kendricks. She had finished the 4th grade at Hoover Elementary and had also attended Willson, New Market, and Nicholson Elementary Schools. She attended New Hope Christian Church and had just finished her 5th year at Dance By Deborah. Emma was named the 2014 Youth Ambassador for the Riley Miracle Ride. She loved dancing, swimming, and playing video games on her iPad. She loved Disney and got to go on a dream trip with her family to Walt Disney World. Tangled was her favorite Disney Movie. Emma loved animals and her dog Wrigley. She really loved to cook. She very loved to play with her brother, sister and cousins and enjoyed picking on her Papaw. Johnny.
Emma is survived by her parents Chad and Amanda, her sister Addison and brother Colton. She is also survived by her Paternal Grandparents John Kendricks & Debbie Kendricks; Maternal Grandmother Janis Callihan; Great grandfathers Charles Kendricks & Sam (Willie) Haslam; Aunts Mandy (Brandon Turner) Jones, Autumn (Jason) Ramsey & Cindy (Chris) Holcomb; Uncle Sean Callihan and Cousins Aubrey & Caden Jones, Maddie & Payton Holcomb, Lanie & Cole Ramsey and a new baby cousin on the way. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Bill Callihan, Great-grandmothers Delores Kendricks, Patricia Haslam & Jacqueline Pierce.
Services will be held 11:00am Thursday at New Hope Christian Church with David Elliott and Pastor Darrell Portwood officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery North. Visitation will be held 4-8pm Wednesday at the church.
