Obituary
Ethel I. Shepherd, 91, of Reelsville and formerly of Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday at Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis.
She was a homemaker and belonged to the Church of God at Greencastle.
Born May 27, 1920, at Frankfort, she was the daughter of William S. and Sarah E. (Whitaker) Simpson. She married Everett Shepherd on Aug. 14, 1937. He passed away Dec. 31, 1998.
Survivors include her sons- Hollis (Mitzi) Shepherd of Greencastle, Arvis (Shely) Shepherd of Crawfordsville and Leon (Michele) Shepherd of Reelsville; daughters- Ruby Young, Ardella (Lee) Melvin and Rosa Sparks, all of Reelsville; a brother- the Rev. David (Ruth) Simpson of Austin; a sister- Ella Larson of Bloomfield; numerous nieces and nephews; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, the Rev. William Simpson, Earl Simpson, and her twin brother, James L. Simpson; and a sister- Marie Taylor.
Services are planned for 2 p.m., Friday, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home Brother David Bard officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery North.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home.
