Evelyn Rosemary Smith Lawler, 95, Crawfordsville, passed away Sunday at Bickford Cottage.
She was born on August 31, 1918 near Romney to Eston and Lela Cornell Smith. She married Delbert Lawler on January 19, 1945 and he passed on December 1, 1984.
She was a member of Phanuel Lutheran Church in Wallace where she was pianist and organist for many years as well as a member of Phanuel Ladies Aid. After moving to Crawfordsville in 1996 she attended Christ Lutheran Church. She graduated from Wallace High School and attended Purdue and Indiana University, receiving and associate degree in medical technology. She then worked as a laboratory technician at Fort Benjamin Harrison during WWII where she met her future husband. After the death of her father in 1967 she managed the family farm.
Survivors include sons, Thomas of Crawfordsville and David and Dean, both of Bloomington. In addition four grandchildren and two grandchildren survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Phanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Wallace. Friends may call one hour prior to services in the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Phanuel Lutheran Church or to Christ Lutheran Church.
