Obituary

Floyd Leslie Demoret, 84, of Crawfordsville passed
away early morning May 22, 2015 at
Hendricks County Regional Hospital in
Danville. Born in Montgomery County
on September 22, 1930, he was the son
of Forrest and Gladys Douglas Demoret.
He attended school in the Waynetown
area. He was the husband of Jeannie Demoret.
They shared 31 years of marriage
together.
He was employed by RR Donnelly and
Sons where he worked as a custodian
and retired after 37 years of service.
He was an avid horse racing fan, he spent most of
his time in or around the racing scene. In earlier years
he competed in Harness Horse Racing as a sulky cart
driver and would often work the gates on the track or at
the fairgrounds. He loved traveling to surrounding area
county fairs and the State Fair, spending hours at the
horse barns checking out horses and talking with owners
and riders. He rarely missed attending the Annual Donnelly
Family Picnic at Indiana Beach. He would catch
up with latest news from everyone and boarding the
Madam Carol for the usual boat trip. He enjoyed long
car rides along the country roads taking in the scenery,
fishing with family and friends, and listening to the banjo
picking bluegrass bands.
He is survived by wife Jeannie Demoret; children
Phyllis (Gary) West, Regina (Mohammed) Brady, James
(Carry) Smith of Eversport, Paula Demoret and Thomas
(Karen) Burks; grandchildren Jennifer (Patrick) Busenbark,
Clinton (Alana) West, Drew Demoret, Dustin Demoret
and Britni Burks; great-grandchildren, Skymerae
Burks, Nickolas Busenbark, Brennden Busenbark, Reese
Busenbark, Destiny West, Raelyn West, Kierra Gill
and Emmett Jones; nephews Steve Demoret and Dick
Demoret; and former wife Hazel Bedwell Staggs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Michael
R. Demoret and John H. Smith; and siblings Norman
(Mary) Demoret, Clarence (Thelma) Demoret, Betty
(Paul) Demoret Redmon and Ruby Demoret.

A memorial service will be held June 8 at 3 p.m.
at Trinity United Methodist Church, 110 S. Blair St.,
Crawfordsville, with Pastor Chris Renick officiating.
Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Interment will be
in the Oak Hill cemetery mausoleum. Memorial contributions
may be made to Indiana Horse Rescue, 916 S.
Prairie Ave, Frankfort, IN 46041.
