Frances I. Smith, 86, Crawfordsville, passed away on Monday March 21, 2016 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital.
She was born in Fairbanks, IN on August 17, 1929, daughter of Leslie Lynn and Mamie (Kilby) Johnson. She married Ernest Smith on October 6, 1984 at the 1st United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville.
Surviving are her husband, Ernie, sister, Garnet McMillan of St. Joseph, IL and several loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Frances graduated from Georgetown High School in Illinois in 1947. She was employed by Bell Telephone Company for 35 years both in Illinois and Indiana.
She loved horses, watching old movies, shopping and being with friends. She volunteered at the hospital, the school and the mental health program after her retirement.
Frances was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church and loved her Savior, Jesus. She will be missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church in Crawfordsville on Monday March 28, 2016 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM (EST) with services to immediately follow with Pastor Gary Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL.
