Fred D. Stevenson, 92, of Crawfordsville, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Clare Medical Center in Crawfordsville.
Mr. Stevenson was born Jan. 21, 1917 in Waterloo, Iowa. He is the son of Samuel Floyd and Anna Davidson Stevenson
He graduated from West Waterloo (Iowa) High School in 1935 and attended Iowa State University. He was married to Anna Faye Switzer and Shirley I Dulitz Hammons. Both preceded him in death. He worked as the Raybeston Manhattan Plant engineer for 20 years and retired from HC Industries.
He was a member of the first Christian Church, where he was a former elder, deacon, chairman of the board and served on many committees. He was also a member of the Rocky Ridge Golf Club.
He is survived by daughters, Caroline Rush of Greenwich, Conn., and Catherine Beemer of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a sister, Elizabeth Collins of Bettendorf, Iowa; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his two wives, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Stevenson.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Crawfordsville. The Rev. Keith Stain will officiate. Burial is at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
Friends and family can pay their respects from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home.
