Gary L. Abney, 63, of Crawfordsville passed away March 27, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis. He was born Sept. 3, 1950, at Crawfordsville to John Francis and Edith Lucille Perkins Abney.

He was retired, he had worked at Fleetwood and as a painting contractor for many years. He loved the outdoors and working in his garden. He was a Crawfordsville High School graduate.

He married Judith Sparks on Aug. 30, 1969, at Roachdale and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Travis (Jama) Abney, Crawfordsville; Terry (Audra) Abney, Crawfordsville; Garry Abney, Crawfordsville; Kristy Abney, Crawfordsville; brothers, Carl "Mike" Michael Abney, Crawfordsville; Dewey "Dude" Duane Abney, Waveland; Lawrence "Lee" Leroy Abney, Crawfordsville; Terry Allen Abney, Crawfordsville; sister, Pamela Sue McIntyre, Crawfordsville; a number of grandchildren, proud Grandpa of Dalton James Burris, Breanna Nichole Jakes, MacKenzie Elaine Abney, Payten Lein Abney, and Keegan Grant Abney.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Whicker officiating. Cremation was chosen. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday.
