Obituary
Genevieve Zabawa, 84, of Crawfordsville passed away 3:15pm Thursday at St. Clare Medical Center.
She was born September 17, 1922 in Jamestown, PA to Andrew and Rose Wojcik Szwczyk. She was a graduate of Passaic (NJ) High School and St. Vincent Nursing School. She married Joseph Zabawa November 13, 1948, he survives.
She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary; she was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Crawfordsville Community Thanksgiving Dinner, and the Hospital Auxiliary.
Other survivors include three sisters, Adeline Dubiel of Clifton, NJ; Josephine Murawski of Garfield, NJ; and Sonia Anderson of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by 1 Brother and 2 Sisters.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00am Tuesday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with the Father David Hellman officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Bernard's School, 1306 E. Main St., Crawfordsville, IN or an Easter lily may be sent to the church.
