Gladys (Gig) Irene Elledge of Crawfordsville passed away with the gracious Lord by her side on October 22, 2025. She was 95 years old.

Gladys was born June 13, 1930, to Rosso and Grace Gosnell in Newton, IL. She grew up with 11 Siblings in Paris, IL She was employed for several years at Reasoner Jewelry Store. She was later hired to be the Activities Director at Ben Hur and Houston Homes here in our community. She retired after 37 years. Gladys loved to tell stories about her patients with joy.

In her spare time, she was an avid walker with her dear friend of 60 years, Collette (Jarie) Haines. She loved flowers, birds, visiting her son Pat's farms to see the horses, making quilts, and pencil coloring.

Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Roger and Pat Elledge, and daughter Kay Anne. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Elledge of Crawfordsville. Two grandsons, Ashley Dean of Incheon, South Korea, and Eldon Elledge of Maricopa, AZ. Granddaughter, Tess of Tucson, AZ. Five great-grandsons, Keegan Young, Ezra Dean, Oliver, Rocco, and Haru. Great- great grandson Koda Young of Crawfordsville. Sisters Carolyn Boes, Bernita Moore, and Ina Messinger.

Gladys lived a long life of gentle kindness, staying healthy. She was known as a resilient woman, extremely talented with an amazing wit and compassion.

She would want to mention how blessed her life was by Diane Newling, "The flower lady," who brought so many bouquets to her as her health declined.  As we remember her with thoughts and profound peace, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
