Gurney C. Williams, 80, of Crawfordsville passed away at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Franciscan Health Lafayette, after battling cancer.

He was born Oct. 3, 1936, at Lebanon, to Paul and Kathleen Williams and was raised in Thorntown.

Gurney was a supervisor at Ingress Plastenes in Crawfordsville where he worked for almost 40 years before retiring. He enjoyed NASCAR and his favorite driver was Jimmie Johnson. He loved fishing, coon hunting, road farming, euchre, IU basketball, singing and playing his guitar. He mostly loved his children and grandchildren. His family meant everything to him.

Gurney is survived by his children, Donnie (Gail) Williams, Diane Maltsberger (companion JR Stonebraker), Paula (Ryan) Seybold, all of Crawfordsville, Susan (Bobby) Oakley of Mellott and Linda Williams (companion Darin Odle) of Williamsport; grandchildren, Jordan, Justin, Cole, Brandon, Elissa, Emily, Jaren and Shay; and sister Marjorie Holladay of Thorntown.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; daughter Marsha Clifton; granddaughter Amber King; two brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. with Brian Veach officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
