Gwendolyn "Maxine" Shultz, 86, passed away Monday at White County Memorial Hospital. She was born February 2, 1920 in Crawfordsville to Merle & Hazel Joslin Stout. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1938, Served in the Womens Army Corps during WWII. She married John Shultz in April 1950, he preceded her in death in 1975Mrs. Shultz was retired from Purdue University Memorial Union. She is a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and Newtown American Legion.
She is survived by her son Royce Shultz of Monticello, a brother Julian Stout of Roachdale, a sister Norma Jean Sillary of New Market, and four grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Thursday May 4 at Newtown Cemetery with Rev. Toby Shultz officiating. Friends may call from 12:15-1:00pm at the funeral Home. Military rites will be performed at graveside.
